I am one of the millions of people that loved Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love. I picked up this book a few years ago when it was hot off the Oprah book club list. It sat in my stack of “to reads” for a while but once I picked it up I was instantly engaged. What can I say other than I loved it.
I am not sure if it was the authors real life earthy writing style that I so identified with, or just her amazing story. For those of you that have not heard about this book. It begins with the authors own divorce & how she picked up the pieces of her broken life, to find herself again. She finds herself only after spending time in three very different countries over a period of months. During which time she is open & frank about all her struggles & successes .
I think it was this honesty that helped her connect to her audience & perhaps make them see their own life a little different. I know personally I was at a point in my life when this book came across my desk that I needed to jump on a plane & head to Italy, but that just was not possible. However it was almost as if I she had taken a little piece of each country & offered it up to her readers ala cart.
Any one would enjoy this book, but I think especially any woman that has had to live life.
They are also making a movie with Julia Roberts to come out later this year. I am never very happy with books I have read that make it to the big screen, but I will definitely go see it & let you know mu opinion!
So go get a great bottle of wine & this book, you wont be sorry
-Happy Reading
