Each year a committee of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) identifies the best of the best in children’s books. According to the Notables Criteria, “notable” is defined as: Worthy of note or notice, important, distinguished, outstanding. As applied to children’s books, notable should be thought to include books of especially commendable quality, books that exhibit venturesome creativity, and books of fiction, information, poetry and pictures for all age levels (birth through age 14) that reflect and encourage children’s interests in exemplary ways.

Several of these are on my check out list at the library & I have always had good luck with books that have made it on to this list. It is a wonderful tool in searching out great children’s authors for that special bed time read!
Reading to our kids is one of the most important things we can do as parents, so before you curl up with my latest must read for you. Snuggle down with one of these with your little reader. You can keep the spirit of the reader alive in your little one so they can enjoy literature as much as you do!
Ready happy, read often, & read this blog again!
